Child Support & Credit Report
by Leigh from Florida
Child Support & Credit Report:The child support my husband paid has been paid in full and the child is now 19, so he has not had to pay in over a year.
He applied for a credit card and the child support in question shows up as negative credit and in arrears even though on the details page it says pays as agreed.
How does he get this removed from his credit report?

Answer to Florida Court Forms Child Support Question
Dear Leigh,
Write to the credit reporting bureaus - Experian, Equifax and Trans Union, and request that this be removed from your husband's credit report. There are errors on many people's credit reports, which is why we must be ever vigilant in keeping our credit reports clean and up to date.
Consumers have the right to dispute errors and to demand that erroneous information be removed. The credit reporting bureaus are often slow to react, so persistence is key.
