Answer to Florida Court Forms Child Custody Question
Dear Kimberly,
I don't know of any agency or lawyers in Fort Myers that will help with a child custody action pro bono, or at no charge.
As far as I know, Legal Aid, is funded to help with divorces when domestic violence was present in the marriage; when a party is being sued; and when a party is being evicted. You can try contacting the many Legal Aid offices in Florida to see if they can be of assistance. Have a look at our Florida Legal Aid page for more information.
If you cannot afford an attorney, you might consider pursuing your cause on your own as a pro se litigant. There are pro se forms available on the Florida Supreme Court's website at www.flcourts.org
Most courthouses have a Pro Se Coordinator on staff that may be able to assist you. You might also consider using a legal document preparer to help you prepare the documents. We provide this service for a very reasonable fee. Just ask us for a free quote.
